The Village Under the Hill

You have arrived at the market as a stranger, and your welcome depends on someone vouching for you. Whispers are spreading now; what you do before the village takes sides may win you a host—or make you an outsider blamed for the quarrel.

You stand on the Market ground. Here, kinship, hospitality and sworn oaths shape daily life. People fear hunger, sickness, raids and shame, and strangers are watched until a host vouches for them.
